...to the home of THE NEW ENGLAND BRASS BAND, New England's premier brass band "In the British Tradition."
The 2007 -2008 season has ended and we have bid our fond farewells to members Doug and Pat Yeo, Terry Everson and Dennis Caron. At our celebratory band dinner before the last concert at Hope Church in Lenox on June 1st, Terry was thanked with special recognition and was name as an Honorary Member of NEBB, Doug was honored as Honorary Member and Director Emeritus and the NEBB Board of Directors also thanked our good friend William Rollins with the titles of Honorary Member and Founding Director.
The NEBB Board of Directors is now hard at work preparing for the arrival of new Music Director, Stephen Bulla. Stephen’s decades of experience in brass banding will certainly push NEBB to new heights and we are all looking forward to the fall. In the meantime, we are busy scheduling concerts, planning auditions (in September) for section openings, and yes, beefing up our fundraising efforts to help offset the added expenses of having a Music Director who will be commuting from Baltimore, MD! We have instituted a new NEBB Patron Giving Program to help with this effort - please have a look if you feel that the New England Brass Band is worthy of your hard earned money!
Speaking of fundraising, we are wrapping up our year long charitable fundraising effort to support the very worthy www.homesforourtroops.org - a Massachusetts based organization that works to build housing for severely disabled veterans of war. NEBB is donating 10% of sales on our newest CD - our tribute to American music and composers called ‘Be Glad Then America’. With this commitment and several generous donations from our audience members, we are pleased to announce that we have helped raise over $1000 to support this noble cause.
We invite you to explore our website, sample (and hopefully purchase!) our recordings, sign up to be on our mailing list and learn how you can attend our concerts.
